After I composed this and tasted, I realized this is basically hot and sour soup base. Which happens to make the best sippy broth to me. This checks all the boxes for a warm savory salty rich beverage.
Quick and easy 8 oz. cup:
- 1 tsp Knorr beef or shrimp bullion
- 1 tsp Knorr chicken bullion
- 1/4 tsp fish sauce
- pinch of white sugar
- dash of soy sauce
- squeeze of lime juice
- garnish pinch of white pepper, toasted sesame seed, sesame oil, hot pepper oil and finish with finely diced green onion.
Per half gallon: (or make with less water for refrigerated concentrate)
- 2 tbsp Knorr beef or shrimp bullion
- 2 tbsp Knorr chicken bullion
- 2 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp Worcestershire
- 2 tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 1 whole thumb of ginger, smashed
- garnish pinch of white pepper, toasted sesame seed, sesame oil, hot pepper oil and finish with finely diced green onion. Per cup when serving because these ingredients float and/or get soggy after a few hours.
